Trucks with chrome have become a major part of the trucking industry growth for many years.

Truckers have dressed up their rigs with as much chrome as possible to draw attention to their rigs and because there is nothing more unique as seeing a big rig running down an interstate fully “chromed out.”

Chrome fenders, grilles, wheels, lug nuts, bumpers, even chrome headlight covers are just some of the parts of a truck that drivers and truckers are adding.

  Truckers identify with their trucks!

If you don’t believe that well then you have never attended the “Pride&Polish” area of the Great American Truck Show in Louisville, Ky. I will tell you more on that later in this article.

When you are driving down the interstate

or a country road you may see many

“chromed out” trucks that really make you

turn your head

Many owner operators customize their

rigs with as much chrome as possible.

Chrome pipes (or stacks) on a rig can really give that big truck a look and sound all it’s own.

Chrome bumpers on the front and rear look awesome, along with headlight covers, and chrome grilles.

When you look at a Peterbilt or Kenworth or Mack or even a Western Star for that matter, that particular truck’s front grille is a statement about the personality of that Rig’s maker.

A factory grille is already unique in and of itself already.

Although when a Trucker replaces that grille with a fully customized Chrome grille, then that truck begins to become a pretty Special Machine!

Trucks are beautifully crafted machines.

When you have completely chromatized your rig then it becomes a Rolling Palace and you are the King Trucker!

Many Truckers have put chrome covers around their headlights.

The headlight covers can transform plain headlights into shiny metallic eyeballs.

The perfect compliment to that Big Wide Smile of that new chrome grille.

The look of that Palace on Wheels is now an amazing chrome mean machine.

When you get an opportunity to attend the “Great American Truck Show” in Louisville, Ky. Make sure you get a look at the Pride&Polish area which is usually outside the East-West hall or the North-South hall.

Another segment of this marvelous Truck show is the Show&Shine exhibit.

There you will see an unbelievable display of Truckers and their wonderfully crafted Chrome rigs.

The show is truly a state of the art truck show with anything related to our Trucking industry!

One last item I want to talk about are chrome gas tanks or “Twin saddle bags” if you will.

These tanks can be easily installed by a reputable service person once you decide the ones you want.

I have researched many places to buy chrome saddlebags along with many other customized chrome products.

One of the more useful sites is here http://www.pinklightning.com/.

I believe you will find their site very useful.

Chroming your rig can be very time consuming as well as expensive to say the least.Yet it is also very enjoyable and rewarding.

Your finished rig chromed out can be a thing of beauty!

Send me pictures of your Palace on Wheels and I will post them in our new Chrome Palace picture album.
